SMS Consent Process

KMS sends SMS notifications only to CRNAs who have provided prior express written consent during hospital department onboarding. This page documents the consent flow from start to finish and publishes the consent form used, for transparency and regulatory verification.

1 Who Receives Messages

SMS notifications are sent exclusively to Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) who:

  • Accept case assignments at a partner hospital anesthesia department that uses the KMS Anesthesia Staffing scheduling platform, and
  • Have completed the written SMS consent process during onboarding

No messages are ever sent to the general public, to CRNAs who have not completed onboarding, or to any individual who has not signed the consent form.

2 How Consent Is Collected

Consent is collected in writing during onboarding, before any SMS is sent. During the onboarding process at a partner hospital anesthesia department:

  • The CRNA is presented with the KMS Anesthesia Staffing SMS Communications Consent Form (published in full below)
  • The CRNA reads the form, which discloses the program, message types, frequency, message-and-data-rate notice, opt-out instructions, and privacy terms
  • The CRNA provides their mobile phone number and signs the form
  • The signed form is retained by the hospital's anesthesia director
  • Only after a signed consent form is on file is the CRNA's number added to the active notification roster

KMS supports two formats for consent collection, both equivalent: (a) a printed paper form signed by hand and returned to the anesthesia director, or (b) an electronic signature workflow where the same form is signed digitally. Both formats contain identical disclosures and carry equal weight.

3 Required Disclosures on the Consent Form

The consent form discloses all of the following before the CRNA signs:

Program Name

KMS Anesthesia Staffing Scheduling Notifications

Message Purpose

Operational OR scheduling only. No marketing.

Message Frequency

Typically 1–5 messages per scheduled workday

Rate Disclosure

Message and data rates may apply

Opt-Out Method

Reply STOP to any message

Help Method

Reply HELP to any message

Consent is not a condition of employment or contracting. A CRNA who declines to sign the SMS consent form remains able to work at the partner hospital — scheduling will be communicated through alternate means.

4 The Consent Form

The exact form CRNAs sign is published below for review. It is publicly accessible, printable, and available in both paper and digital formats during actual onboarding.
